Some friendships feel like home
The Homemade Mothers began as a shared dream between two best friends, Sarah and Taylar, who found beauty and purpose in the rhythm of homemaking. What started as simple conversations about motherhood, creativity, and sharing skills amongst each other, soon grew into a heartfelt movement. We wanted to create a space that honoured the art of making a home and women creating together.
From late night messages and newborn cuddles, to filming tutorials in our homes, The Homemade Mothers has grown alongside our families. Together, we’ve celebrated incredible milestones, launching our first crochet course and building a warm and supportive online community.
Each step has been guided by our shared belief that homemaking is sacred work, creative, nurturing, and deeply feminine. Through every crochet pattern and our future offerings, we hope to remind women that the home is not just a place we live in, but something we lovingly create with our hands and hearts.
At The Homemade Mothers, our mission is to inspire women to slow down, create with intention, and find beauty in the everyday moments of homemaking. We believe in using our hands and hearts to make ordinary days feel meaningful, through creativity, connection, and simple living. Our core values guide everything we do, creativity, because we were made to create, simplicity, because joy is found in slowing down, community, because motherhood is way more enjoyable when shared and legacy, because the skills we nurture today become the heirlooms of tomorrow. Through our work, we hope to remind women that homemaking and creating with our hands is deeply fulfilling.
Sarah-Jane
I’m Sarah, co-founder of The Homemade Mothers. I am a wife and mother to three beautiful children. My journey into motherhood changed me in the most meaningful way, it refined my heart, deepened my faith, and taught me the beauty of serving with love.
As I settled into homemaking, I felt a longing to slow down and learn the traditional skills of the women before me, baking from scratch, sewing, gardening, and creating with my hands and heart. These simple rhythms have become lessons for my children too, teaching them the joy found in slow, intentional living and the sacred work of tending to a home together.
Taylar-Jane
I’m Taylar-Jane, a wife, mother, homemaker and the co-founder of The Homemade Mothers. I live on a little farm with my husband, our 4 beautiful children, and a growing collection of animals, mostly chickens and cows.
Motherhood completely transformed the way I saw the world, it slowed me down, softened me, and awakened a deep desire to create. In those moments of breastfeeding, nap times, and chaos in between, I found myself reaching for yarn and simple handmade rhythms that brought peace and purpose to my days. What began as a personal outlet soon became a calling, to share the beauty of creating with other mothers and women. Through The Homemade Mothers, I hope to remind women that creativity isn’t separate from motherhood, it’s born from it.
